Programs

We have a range of undergraduate programs for studies for all faculties interested in learning more about the field of education. Opportunites range from selecting a single course elective to completing one of our many education minors.
Students who wish to become teachers must prepare their undergraduate coursework accordingly by selecting the appropriate majors and minors and then applying into the professional development program (PDP). Normally the PDP year is either a fifth year of a B.Ed. degree or part of a second degree course sequence. (learn more).

Our post baccalaureate diplomas (PBDs) are popular with teachers returning to upgrade or specialize. You can begin coursework towards your PBD in any semester; however, there are deadlines associated with applying to SFU as an undergraduate student and submitting your program proposal. Note: some or all courses have prerequisites (e.g. EDUC 220). These requirements must be met.
Students are normally given five years to complete a PBD at SFU. It may not be possible to complete a PBD in two or three semesters as not all courses are offered every semester.
Once you have completed your reactivation/readmission/admission to SFU you must submit a program proposal form directly to the undergraduate advisor:
