Simon Fraser University
Simon Fraser University has expressed its commitment to excellence by offering a number of scholarships and awards. As well, the University administers the granting of a number of private scholarships and awards, made possible by generous donations. Awards recognize outstanding students who have made a contribution to the faculty, university, or broader community. To be eligible to apply for an award, a minimum 2.0 CGPA is required.

Scholarships recognize outstanding students who have also achieved a high academic standing. To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, a minimum 3.50 CGPA is required. Because students are graded on a Pass-Withdraw scale in PDP, portfolio documentation is used as well as CGPA in determining students' standing for awards and scholarships.

A faculty committee reviews all nominations and verifies portfolio information with Faculty Associates and others who have worked with the applicant. The committee then submits its recommendations to the Dean, who forwards names of recommended candidates to the Financial Assistance Office. All awards are made by the Senate Undergraduate Adjudication Awards Committee on Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries. PDP students are welcome and encouraged to apply for the following Faculty of Education scholarships and awards during and immediately following their PDP year.
