Faculty of Education Professor Wins Award from the CUFA/BC

Dr. Roland Case

Dr. Roland Case, recipient of the CUFA/BC Career Achievement Award.

 

Dr. Roland Case, a professor in the Faculty of Education at SFU, has been honoured with a Career Achievement Award by the Confederation of University Faculty Associations of British Columbia.

 

Roland was being recognized for his success in helping teachers integrate critical thinking into the elementary and secondary school curriculum. The awards were held during the CUFA/BC Distinguished Academics Awards event at the Law Courts Inn in Vancouver on April 11.

 

An author/editor of over 100 published works and presenter of 300 talks and workshops around the world, Roland dedicated many years to studying how thinking is taught in elementary and secondary school classrooms. In 1993 he co-founded The Critical Thinking Consortium and has since worked to bring critical thinking onto the main stage from grade school to graduate school.
