Nicole Spencer’s “Empty Pockets” poster promoting the campus Food Bank was chosen by faculty members, staff and students as most effective in raising awareness about health education and promotion on our campus. In total, 217 votes were cast during the poster campaign.
A random draw of the votes was held with Amy Prisniak winning the voter’s prize. The SFU Bookstore and Faculty of Education were generous prize sponsors of the poster contest.
“All the posters were effective in communicating the message about health education and promotion,” said Dr. Sandra Vamos, Assistant Professor, Health Education & Graduate Program Coordinator, HEPA. “This was part of our ongoing effort to disseminate knowledge and the fact that so many people voted in the poster campaign tells us that we are gaining more awareness. I think the students have done a great job.”
The HEPA Master’s program offers a broad scope in the area of health education and is designed for students who are pursuing careers in academia, school and community health, and other health-related professions.
