Living and teaching what you love

Dr. Yaroslav Senyshyn, education professor and celebrated musician.

As an education professor and world-renowned pianist, Dr. Yaroslav Senyshyn loves his work, teaches it, and lives it. Classical music lovers can see his next performance at Massey Theatre, Saturday, January 27.

In the Faculty of Education, Senyshyn’s academic focus has been on interdisciplinary research in arts and moral education. He has published extensively in national and international journals, and has several publications under review, including “Understanding and Working with Performance Anxiety in Education”.

As a celebrated musician, Senyshyn has performed at the John F. Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C. and Carnegie Hall in New York, and has made appearances across Europe, Africa and North America. On Saturday, January 27, 2007, Senshyn will be performing with Alan Kogosowski “Travels with Franz Liszt” at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster. Click here for more information.

Senyshyn is Past-President of the Simon Fraser University Faculty Association and a member-at-large of the Canadian Association of University Teachers’ Executive. These responsibilities allow him to explore moral concerns vis-à-vis national and international problems of governmental authoritarianism in higher education.
