IERG on YouTube

|
Teachers now have greater access to the principles and ideas of Imaginative Education for their classroom practice in order to engage their students’ imaginations in learning. The Imaginative Education Research Group (IERG) has made available a video series on YouTube. Go to www.youtube.com/IERGvideo
Each video begins with a short interview with Dr. Kieran Egan, a Co-Director of IERG. Viewers then learn about one Imaginative Education principle, the learning tool it leads to, examples for practical application, and commentary from teachers who have used the principle in their teaching.
Topics for the video series include the use of humour for language development, story structuring lessons to make them emotionally meaningful, and the use of heroes and heroic characteristics in teaching and learning.
The IERG plans to have more videos on YouTube and invite comments and suggestions. Send your feedback to ierg-ed@sfu.ca or post a comment on the Facebook by going to the group profile “Imaginative Education”.
