your education matters now airing on Vancouver island

BC’s only TV show dedicated to addressing education issues is now being aired on Vancouver Island. Shaw TV South Vancouver Island has confirmed that each month a new episode will air on Channel 11 and Channel 4 for its respective communities.

For Paul Shaker, professor and immediate past dean who helped to initiate Your Education Matters says that expanding the TV show’s viewership to reach the whole province is a key priority during this second season. Your Education Matters first aired in 2008 and was created to ensure open and informed dialogue about important education issues.

“This dialogue is intended as a public service to create truly informed public opinion on education and a balanced understanding of our public schools,” explains Shaker. “That means reaching out and including in our dialogue voices in Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island, and other communities in British Columbia.”

The Shaw TV South Vancouver Island network serves 155,000+ households with 418,500 viewers tuning in daily. Your Education Matters is produced with the assistance of Shaw Cablesystems.

Complete episodes are available to be viewed at the website www.youreducationmatters.ca.
