CELS Youth legal literacy project

Nisha Parhar, Research Assistant and Pat Clarke from CELS Legal Literacy for Youth Project at Sakai
Workshop.
Students from four area schools, involved in CELS Youth Legal literacy Project, recently participated in a computer workshop in the Centre for Educational Technology to learn about Sakai, a set of software tools to create websites for collaboration.
This Project addresses concepts such as the "rule of law" and what it means to live in and work towards a "just society". It focuses on four themes, which are of interest to youth and embedded in the Grades 6 to 10 curriculum: Citizenship; Human Rights; Identity, Language and Culture; and Environmental Sustainability.
