Teacher education conference offered outstanding seminars and workshops.
On February 6th and 7th, Professional Programs hosted its inaugural conference “Pedagogical Practices: embodied, relational and diverse” on teacher education with an outstanding offering of seminars and workshops from local and international scholars and teachers. Dr. Christine Sleeter opened the conference with a thoughtful and motivating keynote speaking to the institutional racism embedded within our curriculum.
Nearly 100 delegates participated in conference sessions ranging from hands on strategies for bringing environmental science into the classroom, to case study research focusing on the relationships between pre-service teachers and school associates. Professional Programs is looking forward to building upon this successful beginning and intends to host a second conference next year.
