Your town and river in the future....What plans does your community have with regard to the river? Will more people need water in the future? Will more people discharge more sewage into the river? Will new industries need water or use the river for waste disposal? Will there be a need for more electrical power - will this come from dams?

Will population growth mean more traffic - will this mean more bridges and roads near or over the river? Are there plans for new parks or housing developments along the river - what will be the effects on native vegetation and on the river banks? Will there be a need for flood control - dams, dikes?

Does your community have an official community plan? What does it have to say about the future of the river? How was this plan created? Are there people in your community who agree/disagree or support/oppose the plan? Can it be changed? How, and by whom?
