Your Education Matters: School Leadership Crunch from SFU Education on Vimeo.

A large turnover in school administrators due to retirements is imminent. The B.C. Ministry of Education has issued a call to action to prepare and train 1,500 principals and vice principals by 2012. In response, the Ministry with the Association of BC Deans of Education, the Ministry of Advanced Education and other educational stakeholders are collaborating to develop and deliver a program to help develop the essential skills, knowledge, theories, and attitudes for successful leadership in B.C. schools. What can we learn from what is happening now in order to best prepare school leaders of the future? How will this transition affect schools, students and even parents?
