Imagination and Education grew out of a conference that Dan Nadaner organized at Simon Fraser University. The conference was clearly a success, judged by the buzz and the kinds of inquiries we were receiving about the topic and the papers later. So Dan and I worked together to bring together the papers of our speakers, including Robin Barrow, Claire Golomb, Maxine Greene, Brian Sutton-Smith, and Robert Walker, and then augment them by seeking out some of the best writings and scholars working on the uses of imagination in education. The book was published by Teachers College Press in New York, and subsequently by the Open Univeristy Press in England.
