Dr. Kamuela Ka’Ahanui

Dr Kamuela Ka'Ahanui is a proud SFU EdD Alumnus. Enrolled in the program in EdD program in 1998, Kamuela graduated from SFU in 2003. Since then, he has moved back to his native Hawai'i where he currently works at the University of Hawai'i, Manoa in Honolulu as part of the graduate faculty in teacher education.

Dr. Jim McConnell
Vancouver Cohort:1998-2002
Ten years after graduating from the Educational Leadership Program at SFU, Jim says that enrolling and taking the program was one of his most important decisions and hence his proudest accomplishment. Jim was part of the first SFU EdD cohort, which began in the summer of 1998. At the time he was the Director of the Senior School and Assistant Head of School at Crofton House. In 2002 midpoint the program, he left that position to start a new school, Stratford Hall and become the first Head of School, a position he still holds today. [read more...] |

Dr. Wendy Carr
Vancouver Cohort: 2004 - 2007
Wendy is a teacher educator and coordinator in the Teacher Education Program at the University of British Columbia, the latter a position she had just taken on when she started the EdD program in July 2004. In fact, right after being accepted into the program, another leadership opportunity as helping teacher role in the Surrey School District also presented itself. Juggling these and a few other hats created a busy yet surprisingly integrated experience from the first course to crossing the stage in June 2007.

Dr. Lynne MacFadgen
Vancouver Cohort: 2004 - 2007
Fears and apprehensions of an adult learner returning to schools after twenty years are now something of the past. Lynne graduated with her EdD in Educational Leadership in 2007; completing her studies in exactly three years. She attributes this first pace completion to a grant from the Canadian Council on Learning (CCL) that she was able to apply for and secure independently because of her being in the EdD.
