My scholarship is concerned with the psychology of personhood, selfhood, and human agency; the socio-cultural dimensions of psychological development and education; the influence of psychology in educational institutions and practices; and the application of hermeneutics and historical ontology to psychological inquiry. I am Fellow of the American Psychological Association and American Educational Research Association, past President of Division 24 of the American Psychological Association, past recipient (with Jack Martin) of the American Psychological Association George Miller Award for Outstanding Recent Article in General Psychology, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology.
